Attacker in Surgical Mask and Gloves Slashes Chinese Exchange Student: NYPD
(DNAINFO) Trevor Kapp | December 16, 2015 — A knife-wielding man wearing a surgical mask and gloves slashed a Chinese exchange student in an apparent random attack as she walked to school in Whitestone Wednesday morning, police said.
The 16-year-old girl was walking east on 13th Avenue, near 147th Street, when a man wearing a hood came up from behind and slashed her twice across the face about 8:20 a.m., the NYPD said.
“She’s walking to school with her bookbag,” NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said. “It came out of nowhere. “It’s very disturbing.”
