The city is looking for a developer to build a mixed-income affordable housingproject that includes commercial and community space on a roughly 158,000 square foot site along the Harlem River by the Major Deegan Expressway and the W. 145th Street bridge.

The New York City Economic Development Corporation and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development recently put out a request for expressions of interest in developing the vacant site, called Lower Concourse North, and responses are due to the NYCEDC on Oct. 11 by 4 p.m.

“This RFEI in the Lower Concourse will create new affordable housing options, amenities, and services along the Harlem River, giving residents of the South Bronx much-needed access to their waterfront,” NYCEDC President Maria Torres-Springersaid in a statement.
