City Asks for Proposals for Affordable Development on Slaughterhouse Site

July 24, 2024 | admin

(DNAINFO)  Gwynne Hogan — Affordable housing is coming to the neighborhood with the construction of the 11th Avenue Slaughterhouse Site.

The New York City Economic Development Corporation asked developers Monday forproposals for an all-affordable, mixed-use, housing development on the site of a former abattoir, now an NYPD parking lot.

The project was first reported by DNAinfo New York in July.

Priority will be given to developers who propose permanent affordable housing for a variety of income brackets up to $142,395 a year for a family of four, which is 165 percent of the Area Media Income (AMI).
