De Blasio and Bratton Disagree on Black Lives Matter Movement

(DNAINFO) Jeff Mays and Chris Sommerfeld | July 11, 2016 — Mayor says the movement is changing discussions on race while Bratton said police are being stereotyped.

Mayor Bill de Blasio has supported Police Commissioner William Bratton on everything from hiring thousands more police officers to the use of so-called broken windows policing.

But the two men disagree on whether the Black Lives Matter movement — a nationwide effort to bring attention to the deaths of people of color at the hands of police — is a force for good or causes harm to police.
