With rents as low as $625, more than 200 affordable apartments are up for grabs in a brand-new 125th Sreet building. Here’s how to apply.
EAST HARLEM, NY — Hundreds of affordable apartments are now up for grabs in a huge, just-finished building in East Harlem.
The building, known as One East Harlem, takes up much of the block along Third Avenue between East 125th and 126th streets. Standing 20 stories tall, it includes 404 apartments — including 268 that have been listed in the new lottery on Housing Connect.
The affordable apartments include 75 studios, 63 one-bedroom units, 116 two-bedrooms and 14 three-bedrooms.
Several different income ranges are eligible to apply, including households making as little as 40 percent of the area median income — or $24,000 per year for a single person. The highest income bands are 165 percent AMI, or $64,800 for one person.
The cheapest units will rent for $625 per month for studios, $791 for one-bedrooms, $940 for two-bedrooms and $1,078 for three-bedroom units, according to the listing.
