(DNAINFO)  Jeff Mays | November 24, 2015 — Police Commissioner Bill Bratton was correct when he said last week that Mayor Bill de Blasio was slow to recognize an obvious increase in homelessness, the mayor said Monday.

“I think a mistake that the administration made early on was not validating what we all were seeing,” Bratton said during a panel discussion at the Manhattan Institute.

De Blasio, speaking at Hunter School of Social Work in East Harlem, said he was “comfortable” with the assessment of his police commissioner.
