(THE MIRROR)  Kathleen Gaul, September 25, 2016 — A nurse who is dying of cancer desperately needs to raise £50,000 for alternative treatment in Germany.

Heidi Roberts was a nurse at the intensive care unit at the Royal Liverpool Hospitalbut had to give up her job when she became ill.

She has been battling the disease for four years but it has now spread to her lungs and, having exhausted treatment options in the UK, she is looking abroad for treatment.

The 36-year-old believes a treatment called PD-1 immunotherapy may provide a lifeline but it is is not licensed in the UK.

Heidi, from Knowsley Village, said: “I don’t understand why they don’t have it here in this country.
