(DNAINFO) Gwynn Hogan | November 25, 2016 — Applications for 104 affordable apartments on the Williamsburg waterfront open on Nov. 28.
The first batch of a planned 700 affordable apartments at the Domino Sugar Factory site are going up for grabs in the city’s affordable housing lottery — with studios starting as low as $596 per month.
The first 104 affordable studios, one and two-bedroom apartments at 325 Kent Ave. will start accepting applications on Monday, Nov. 28, according to the city.
Once it’s completed, the sprawling complex will include about 2,000, mostly market-rate apartments, as well as office space, according to an agreement with the city and developer Two Trees.
The complex sits just north of the Williamsburg Bridge on the waterfront, in between two East River Ferry stops and a short walk to the Bedford Avenue L train station and the J/M/Z station at Marcy Avenue.
Through the lottery, six studios will rent for $596 per month for singles earning between $21,772 and $25,400 a year, according to the city.
Another 34 studios are available for $754 per month, for single people who make between $27,189 and $38,100 per year.
