City Releases Schedule for Astoria Ferry Route Launching in August

(DNAINFO)  Jeanmarie Evelly | April 17, 2017 — The city released its schedule for the new Astoria ferry route that’s slated to launch in August, with 30 departures to set sail from the neighborhood on weekdays and 23 on weekends, according to the timetable.

Boats on the route will start running from the new ferry landing on the Hallets Peninsula beginning at 6:30 a.m. each day, with the last departure slated for 8:30 p.m. on weekdays and 9:10 p.m. on weekends.

Departures during the peak morning commute are 20 minutes apart.

Riders will be able to connect to ferry stations in Roosevelt Island, Long Island City, East 34th Street and Wall Street. The whole trip to Lower Manhattan will take approximately 38 minutes, according to the schedule.
