Correction Officer Killed by Ex After Asking For Her BMW Back, Sources Say

(DNAINFO) Murray Weiss | December 12, 2016 — Anastasia Bryan loaned her boyfriend her car and, when she asked for it back, he shot her, sources say.

A city correction officer was killed by an ex-boyfriend who was furious that she’d asked him to return her BMW, which he’d borrowed, after she split up with him, sources believe.

A manhunt has been on for the suspect, whose name is being withheld by police, since Alastasia Bryan, 25, was fatally shot by a hooded gunman.

The man pulled up to the driver’s side of her new 2016 Nissan Infiniti, parked on East 73rd Street and Avenue L in Mill Basin at 9:19 p.m. on Dec. 4, and shot her five times.

Sources say Bryan, a rookie officer recently assigned to Rikers Island, had broken up with her boyfriend and demanded that he return her 2010 BMW, which she apparently turned in to get the new Infiniti.

“The guy was really pissed about her asking for the car back,” a source said, speculating that the request coupled with the breakup fueled his desire for revenge.
