DOT Releases Final Citi Bike Plan for the Upper West Side

(DNAINFO) Emily Frost — The Department of Transportation released the final locations for the thirty-nine Citi Bike stations that are coming to the neighborhood, with only three stations moved from their original locations.

The final locations, which can be viewed here, are the result of extensive consultation with residents, according to a post on DOT’s Citibike Station Portal, a website dedicated to the bike share.

Residents had a chance to weigh in on the locations during workshops this January and again after a preliminary plan was released this spring.

While in general residents have cheered the arrival of Citi Bike, which was delayed several years, others voiced concern over particular locations, including one in front of a preschool and another in front of a busy tourist spot. Those two stations, along with some others residents took issue with, were not moved in the final plan.
