DOT Weekend Traffic Advisory: Easter Day Parade

Easter Parade, New York City

The Easter Parade will take place on Easter Sunday along Fifth Avenue from 49th to 57th Streets is a wonderful celebration of strolling in Easter finery. Bonnets are taken to an extreme that only New Yorkers can reach; also expect to see live rabbits, pet snakes, flowers, clowns, and more. The street is closed to traffic for parade participants and people watchers from 10am until 4pm.

 

Manhattan

West 25th Street between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue

This street will be closed Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 37th Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue

This street will be closed Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 43rd Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 12:01 am to 8 am to facilitate crane operation.

West 75th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue:

This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm to facilitate crane operation

 

The Manhattan-bound (north) tube of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed from 11 pm Friday to 8 am Saturday to accommodate Superstorm Sandy restoration work. One lane will remain open in each direction in the other tube.

 

The south tube of the Battery Park Underpass (West Street to FDR Drive) will be closed on Saturday from 1 am to 8 am for the restoration of the electrical and mechanical systems damaged by Superstorm Sandy.
