(DNAINFO) Noah Hurowitz — Work on the FDR Drive is expected to cause rough patches and potential delays along a six-block stretch this week.
The city will be resurfacing the highway between East 42nd and East 48th streets, beginning Tuesday and lasting through Saturday. The work will take place each night from 11 p.m to 6 a.m. the next morning, according the Department of Transportation.
The work will include intermittent lane closures, so drivers should plan ahead for possible delays, according to a DOT spokeswoman.
Resurfacing will continue on other parts of the highway from Tuesday through Saturday each week for the next several months, according to the DOT. The agency could not provide and expected completion date for the project.
