Flood Watch Issued as Heavy Storms Set to Drench the City 

(DNAINFO)  Katie Honan | August 7, 2017 — Forecasters have issued a flash flood watch for the five boroughs as torrential rains and thunderstorms are expected to soak the city this afternoon.

Showers could dump between 1 to 2 inches of rain — although some neighborhoods could see higher amounts, according to the National Weather Service.

Multiple rounds of heavy rain could begin before noon, and the flood watch is in effect from 12 p.m. until late Monday night.
