Man Arrested for Groping, Pushing Woman Onto Subway Tracks, NYPD Says

(DNAINFO)  Maya Rajamani | April 17, 2017 — A man who pushed a woman onto the subway tracks after she yelled at him for groping her on the platform at the 14th Street F/M train station was arrested and charged with attempted murder, police said.

Police captured Kimani Stephenson, 24, a resident of Alphabet City’s Lillian Wald Houses, around 3 a.m. Sunday after receiving a tip from someone who’d seen surveillance footage of him, the NYPD said.

His 22-year-old victim was standing on the northbound F/M train platform at West 14th Street and Sixth Avenue around 4:10 a.m. on Friday when he approached her from behind and grabbed her chest and groin, according to the NYPD and a criminal complaint filed with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

After the woman yelled at him to stop, Stephenson pushed her onto the tracks, leaving her with a broken wrist, a dislocated shoulder and a contusion on her left thigh, police and the DA’s office said.
