Man Steals $500 from Woman He Attacked in U.N. Plaza Hotel, Police Say
(DNAINFO) Aidan Gardiner — A woman was attacked and robbed of $500 in a luxury hotel across from the United Nations by a man she’d met at a bar, police said.
The woman, whose identity was not released, was at the Millennium Hotel at 1 United Nations Plaza, near First Avenue, about 6 p.m. Sept. 8, when the man visited her, an NYPD spokeswoman said.
The two had met at a bar on a previous night, police said.
Once in the hotel room, he pushed her to the ground and demanded she open the room’s safe, police said.
He stole $500 and fled the scene, police said.
The man, who is about 36, wore a blue shirt and hat with white pants and shoes, police said.
The Millenium offers hotel rooms for about $541 a night, according to its website.
