Midtown East – Uptown Lanes from Queens Midtown Tunnel to Close for 2 Months, MTA Says

(DNAINFO)  Noah Horowitz | April 29, 2016 — Two uptown exit lanes at the Manhattan plaza of the Queens Midtown Tunnel will be closed for about two months starting on Friday, according to the MTA.

Manhattan-bound drivers will be able to make their way uptown by driving through the crosstown lanes when they get to the exit of the tunnel, but should expect some delays as the MTA carries out Sandy-related rehabilitation work.

The reconstruction, which has already caused periodic nighttime closures in the Queens-bound tube, includes asphalt replacement, concrete and masonry repairs, and work on pavement joints, according to a statement from the agency.
