MTA Knew of ‘Rail Condition’ Hours Before Derailment That Injured 3 Riders
(DNAINFO) Nicholas Rizzi — The MTA knew of a G train “rail condition” hours before a derailment that injured three people Thursday night.
The transit agency sent out several service alerts about delays on the line at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn station hours before the front two wheels of the train, carrying 80 passengers, went off the tracks at at 10:34 p.m., 700 feet north of the station.
The MTA warned of service delays at 4:05 p.m. due to a “rail condition,” according to the website.
