NYC FOAM BAN
(NYC.GOV) As of July 1, 2015, food service establishments, food trucks, and stores won’t be able to use or sell certain expanded polystyrene (EPS) products. This includes single-service items including cups, bowls, plates, takeout containers, and trays, as well as polystyrene loose fill packaging, commonly known as packing peanuts.
NYC’s foam ban affects any business, agency, or institution that sells or uses EPS and is located or operates within the five boroughs. Information on the ban is available in multiple languages.
