NYC’s 2016 Blizzard: What We Know 

(DNAINFO) By Danielle Tcholakian | January 23, 2016 — As of 5 p.m. on Saturday, the NYPD responded to 312 car accidents and three people died shoveling snow.

The city is “fighting an uphill battle” against the snowstorm dumping between one and three inches of snow per hour across the five boroughs, Mayor Bill de Blasio said in an evening update on Saturday.

“This is a storm that’s packing a lot of punch and is continuing to do so very forcefully into the evening,” the mayor said.
