Redefining the Status Quo

We live in a world where millions of people are impoverished so that a few can be wealthy. We’ve commoditized health, food and housing for maximum profit, leaving people cost-burdened and destitute.

Housing prices are through the roof, healthcare costs are out of touch, and the access to nutritious food slips further from our reach.

That’s why we’re tackling three foundational problems: Health, Housing, and Hunger.

Health

Protecting Medicare: “Keep corporate hands off our healthcare!” We’re fighting to preserve  traditional Medicare to control healthcare costs for current and future retirees.

Advocating for Non-Commoditized Healthcare: We’re campaigning for single payer, universal health coverage to meet everyone’s needs.

Education: We’re organizing forums about healthcare challenges, and how we can create a better system for the future.

Housing

Raising Awareness: The housing crisis exists because of poor development policies. Over 100,000 of our neighbors are forced to sleep in shelters, tents, cars, and hospitals; thousands are bedding down on the streets, and doubling up on couches.

Our campaigns and forums inform the public about the root causes of housing instability, and rally the masses to push for lasting changes.

Street Sheets: We offer an expansive network of resources for people struggling with homelessness. Through our “Street Sheets” program, people can find a list of health, social, and protective services. We also direct them to services that provide food, showers, bathrooms, clothes, shelter, housing and tenant support, and more.

Homeless and Housing Meetings: These monthly gatherings are a great opportunity to advocate for changes within our communities.

Hunger

Urban Farming Program: Our volunteers grow food on various farms and distribute it to pantries and shelters, low-income households, retirees and other people in need.
