(DNAINFO) Leslie Albrecht October 19, 2015 — Developer Hidrock Realty has scaled back plans for a condo building next to the Pavilion Theater in response to community feedback and will present the revised proposal to the Landmarks Preservation Commission on Tuesday.
The tweaked renderings show that Morris Adjmi Architects made several changes, including setting back the fifth floor of the proposed six-story condo building by 6 feet and making the cornice more prominent to blend in better with neighboring buildings on Bartel-Pritchard Square.
The brick color for the building has been warmed up, and some of the windows in the ground-floor commercial space are now smaller, the renderings show.
“The ground floor openings are lifted from the ground and reconceived to match the residential character of [Bartel-Pritchard Square],” architects wrote in describing the new renderings. “The base of the building is thus more solid and its retail function less conspicuous.”
