We are pleased to invite you to join a reading and discussion with  Fordham Professor Susan Greenfield, editor, and an author from  “Sacred Shelter, 13 Journeys of Homelessness and Healing”, published  by Fordham University Press,  which  includes the life stories of 13 graduates of the Life-Skills Empowerment programs that the Interfaith Assembly helped establish in partnership with New York Catholic Charities in 1989. 

The Interfaith Assembly is sponsoring a series of book readings and signings which include  conversations about the personal experience of homelessness, and New York City’s Housing Policies that effect those who are Homeless and at risk of homelessness. In attendance at each will be Professor Susan Greenfield, Marc Greenberg, and an author from Sacred Shelter.

It is our hope that upon the hearing these stories of trauma, struggle, courage, and healing, and participating in these discussions,  those joining us will  be moved to address both the personal and the systemic public policy realities  of the modern scandal of  homelessness and the lack of affordable housing.       

We are seeking your help to get these powerful and inspiring stories out into our community and  asking you to consider if you and/or your community would    be willing to host a  book partyto hear from one or more of our authors.
