Schools Admin Arrested for Sexual Relationship With Teen, Police Say

A 53-year-old Department of Education administrator tasked with keeping students safe was arrested Tuesday for having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy, officials said.
John DiFiore, who had been working at the Office of Safety and Youth Development, had inappropriate interactions with the boy at least three times before he was arrested while off-duty in the 10th Precinct, NYPD officials and prosecutors said.
“While this alleged behavior is not school-related, It is deeply deeply disturbing and reprehensible,” said DOE spokeswoman Devora Kaye.
