Streets Flooded and Buildings Evacuated After Massive Water Main Break
(DNAINFO) Nicholas Rizzi | October 23, 2015 — The water main broke at a construction site at 51-35 Reeder St., officials said.
A massive water main break at a Queens construction site flooded streets and caused several buildings to be evacuated Friday morning, officials said.
The break started at 51-35 Reeder St. at about 8:03 a.m. It was caused by construction of a seven story building being done at the site, a spokesman for the FDNY said.
Several buildings were evacuated because of water which flooded into basements, the spokesman said.
The Q53 and Q60 bus lines were being re-routed, the MTA said. The break also caused delays to the E, F, M and R lines, the MTA said.
