(DNAINFO) Ewa Kern-Jedrychowska | December 24, 2015 — Police have released surveillance video of a man who they say stabbed another straphanger in his butt several times on subway platforms in Forest Hills and Kew Gardens Sunday evening.
The 42-year-old victim later told investigators that he was not aware of being stabbed until he returned home, police said.
The victim was waiting for a Jamaica-bound F train at the 71st/Continental Avenue station in Forest Hills at roughly 7:10 p.m. on Dec. 20 when a man bumped into him from behind with an unknown hard object, police said.
The man bumped him again as he was boarding the train and then twice more when he got off at the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens station, according to the NYPD.
He also said that initially he felt no pain and did not realize that he was actually stabbed until he went home and saw blood on his pants.
He then discovered three puncture wounds to his left buttock and one to his right buttock, each of them about half an inch wide, police said.
The man was taken to Forest Hills Hospital, where he was treated and released, police said.
Police described the suspect as approximately 25 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was dressed in a red-and-black checkered jacket, Oakland Raiders shirt, black pants and black hat. He had a cast on his right hand.
Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
