During the first three Saturdays in August, the city will prohibit car traffic on nearly seven miles of city streets from the Brooklyn Bridge to 72nd Street between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.

And a new “Shared Streets” program will limit traffic in a 60-square-block area south of the Brooklyn Bridge to the Battery from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on August 13.

The area will be open to pedestrians, cyclists and a limited amount of cars, which will be monitored by the NYPD.
